DreamWorks' animated film Home rakes in $54 million as it takes top spot at the box office over Will Ferrell's comedy Get Hard

The new animated film Home has soared to the top of the box office, raking in an estimated $54 million over its opening weekend.
According to estimates on Sunday, the tale about a friendship between an outcast space alien named Oh and an Earthling girl named Tip, proved a rather impressive success for DreamWorks studios.
With a voice cast led by Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Jim Parsons, the family-friendly adventure film beat out Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell's R-rated comedy Get Hard.

Get Hard opened with an estimated $34.6 million for Warner Bros., the largest premiere for the movie's laugh out loud duo.
The film teamed two of the most bankable actors in comedy for a story about a millionaire businessman James King (Ferrell) who seeks help from Darnell Lewis (Hart) as he prepares to face time behind bars for fraud.
According to Variety, the comedy ousted last weekend's top film Insurgent, which fell 58 percent to make $22 million and nab third place on the charts.
